What is Barrel Roll?

Barrel Roll is a personal blog where I’ll write my thoughts about games and the gaming industry.

With the rising prominence of gaming in the mainstream, coupled with the disastrous crumbling of the AAA publishing model and the explosion of indie games, I’ve had way too many thoughts about games to just rant to my friends and family. I needed a place where I could put all my ruminations into words and hopefully share them with folks who also spend too much time thinking about the jumpy-shooty people on their screens.

While I’m not a games journalist or industry insider, I’m a writer by trade with years of experience with online publications.
